If I am to be honest and open my journey to the land of all things natural as it relates to what I use on my body began back when I first became an adult who quickly discovered that product bearing dyes scents and scary preservatives lead me down a road to countless doctor visit during a time where antibiotics where used as a cure all for everything and over the counter allergy medicine was the cocktail of relief that became a staple in my life.
The summer of 1990 was truly enlightening season for me because I was no longer wanting or willing to be on the merry go round of outbreaks infections and irritations nor did I want to commit to the all so familiar cocktail used for relief that I had become accustomed to this time proved to be different because this time i was more proactive during my visit with the doctor Arm with a list of symptoms and questions and the urge to not only mask the beast but slay him Lol.
I had kept a journal of several things such as topicals, detergents lotions and more that I use and then recorded what if anything I felt or started to feel or react to shortly after using paying special attention to anything that was up close and personal to my body including what I bath in. Well it didn't take long for me to discover that it was my laundry detergent, my bubble bath products and my colored toilet tissue that would bring my beast front and center.
My physician and I work together on slaying the beast which included changing the way I bath using clear clean water and getting rid of the color toilet tissue which really was a thing back then and only using dye free laundry detergent. With the plan in place I went out to purchase these dye free product and was hard press to find them because if they were dye free they were loaded with scented chemicals and if the were scent free than they had green or blue dye in them. Frustrated I began reading and creating more natural products that I could use not only to slay the beast but products that I truly enjoy using. #THETRUTHSHALLSETUFREE
